Volunteers needed at National Championship tournament

The Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) was awarded the 2021 Chipotle USA Hockey Girls National Tournament to be held at Family Sports Ice Arena, The South Suburban Sports Complex and The Edge Ice Arena. This tournament, which was moved to Colorado from California, due to California’s covid situation, will be held from April 29-May 3, 2021.

CAHA is looking for member associations to volunteer at various rinks to make this tournament a success. We are soliciting interest from the CPHL and the HPHL to assist in this tournament.  Please let me know if your team has any interest in working this tournament and I will provide available days and times.  We are looking for assistance at the South Suburban Sports Complex and Family Sports Ice Arena.  Ideally, we would like clubs to volunteer for four-hour blocks.

The positions needed are:

  • Reception Desk- This person would be in the lobby and assist with questions.
  • Hospitality Room- This person would monitor the hospitality room and make sure only credentialed individuals enter the room and ensure that coolers are stocked.
  • Lower-level monitor (2) people. These individuals will monitor the lower level to ensure that only credentialed individuals enter the locker room areas and ice level.
  • Clock Operator/Announcer.
  • Scorer/Music (paper scoresheet.

If a club volunteers for a four-hour block, CAHA will make a financial donation to your organization. Please contact Brian Willie at your earliest convenience and I will provide available days and times.

Celebrating Gary "Senior" Pedigo with a round of golf, some drinks and a good time

Come out and celebrate the life and legacy of Gary "Senior" Pedigo. We all loved him and miss him. His smile and laugh were infectious. So let's celebrate the good times and memories at the course he loved to play. This year's golf tournament will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve located 10555 Westmoor Dr, Westminster, CO 80021. The shotgun start time will be at 8:30 am. Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment OK's CAHA Hockey return to play immediately

CAHA has been working with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) over the past several weeks.  We are very pleased to announce that CAHA has affirmed and signed off on new CDPHE guidelines that will permit all CAHA sanctioned activities to resume immediately including full practices and competition. All CAHA members are expected to continue comply with all health guidelines from the CDC, CDPHE, CAHA and local health departments. If you have questions regarding resumption in play, please contact your local Hockey Director for further guidance.
