This is the time of year for CIHRA elections.

There are four offices open for the year July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022: Second Vice President (open), Secretary (Andrew O’Donnell), and two Member-at-Large (Jamie Alary and Derek Vandenberg) positions. The Second Vice President office is a four-year term moving in succession to First Vice President, President and Past President. Secretary and the Member-at-Large positions are two-year terms. The nomination period begins on May 21 and will close on May 28 at 6:00 pm. Any current member having a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age may be nominated by another current member of CIHRA for the offices open for election. You may nominate yourself. CIHRA members will receive further instructions on making nominations in the following week. All nominations must be submitted by the close of the nomination period (6:00 pm Monday, May 28). No nominations received after the deadline will be accepted.

In conjunction with annual officer elections, the membership shall vote on amendments proposed to the By-Laws. Amendments to the By-Laws may be proposed by any member of the Association. CIHRA By-Laws can be found on our website (www.cihra.org) under Home > CIHRA Documents & Calendar.

Below is the timeline for the elections:
May 15 – first communication to the membership
May 20 – voter IDs emailed
May 21 – an open invitation for nominations
May 28 – nomination period ends 6:00 pm
May 31 – acceptance of all nominations 6:00 pm
June 1 – candidate listing preview available on CIHRA website
June 8 – commencement of voting 6:00 am
June 15 – completion of voting 6:00 pm
June 17 – results communicated to the membership
July 1 – new board members begin their term

Vote security
Each CIHRA member will be assigned a unique voter ID to assure anonymity and one person/one vote. Your voter ID will be needed to make a nomination and exercise your vote. Brent Erickson, as CIHRA Election Administrator, is the sole owner of this list, no one else will have access to it to identify an individual voter. IDs will be emailed to you in the next few days from cihraelections@gmail.com, outside of the CIHRA mail system. You may need to unblock this address from your email client.

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment OK's CAHA Hockey return to play immediately

CAHA has been working with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) over the past several weeks.  We are very pleased to announce that CAHA has affirmed and signed off on new CDPHE guidelines that will permit all CAHA sanctioned activities to resume immediately including full practices and competition. All CAHA members are expected to continue comply with all health guidelines from the CDC, CDPHE, CAHA and local health departments. If you have questions regarding resumption in play, please contact your local Hockey Director for further guidance.
