Scheduling and Availability - 21/22 Season

The 2021-2022 hockey season has begun and there are a lot of games to cover. Please take time as soon as you are able and update your availability on Horizon Web Ref. Schedulers rely on this system to get games covered and can only get you scheduled if you are available.

While the covid pandemic is still lingering hockey is back in full this season.  All levels of youth including Tier 1, High School, College, and Adult are now playing and a full roster of officials will be required to cover all the games. In addition, we have a significant number of tournaments this season including the annual thanksgiving events.   

Important Reminders for 21/22 Season Start
  • Complete your USA Hockey registration and familiarize yourself with the rule changes
  • Be sure your Horizon Web Ref availability is updated on a regular basis so you can be assigned games
  • Contact the schedulers you normally work with if you have questions or want assignments. If you do not know who the scheduler is for the rink(s) or leagues you want to work at the scheduler contact information is listed in Horizon Web Ref. Go to: Documents, then click on CIHRA Schedulers 2021 to access this list.
  • The scheduler list is also available on our website: CIHRA.ORG.  Click on the “Want to be a Referee?” tab, scroll down, and click on schedulers.
  • If you want to be mentored, or evaluated, go to the website, then click on the tab for either of these options.  
  • If you know anybody who might be interested in officiating encourage them to get started this season as there will be plenty of games available.

This is the time of year for CIHRA elections.

There are four offices open for the year July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022:  Second Vice President (open), Secretary (Andrew O’Donnell), and two Member-at-Large (Jamie Alary and Derek Vandenberg) positions. The Second Vice President office is a four-year term moving in succession to First Vice President, President and Past President. Secretary and the Member-at-Large positions are two-year terms. The nomination period begins on May 21 and will close on May 28 at 6:00 pm. Celebrating Gary "Senior" Pedigo with a round of golf, some drinks and a good time

Come out and celebrate the life and legacy of Gary "Senior" Pedigo. We all loved him and miss him. His smile and laugh were infectious. So let's celebrate the good times and memories at the course he loved to play. This year's golf tournament will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve located 10555 Westmoor Dr, Westminster, CO 80021. The shotgun start time will be at 8:30 am. Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment OK's CAHA Hockey return to play immediately

CAHA has been working with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) over the past several weeks.  We are very pleased to announce that CAHA has affirmed and signed off on new CDPHE guidelines that will permit all CAHA sanctioned activities to resume immediately including full practices and competition. All CAHA members are expected to continue comply with all health guidelines from the CDC, CDPHE, CAHA and local health departments. If you have questions regarding resumption in play, please contact your local Hockey Director for further guidance.
